Tasting Notes
A sparkling wine with a clean, pleasantly fruity bouquet, reminiscent of rennet apples and peach blossom. Its flavor is rounded and well-balanced.
History
Santa Margherita was founded in 1935 by Count Gaetano Marzotto. As a sign of the importance of this project, the Count gave this new company the name of his beloved wife, Margherita. Prosecco sparkling wine was made as long ago as 1952, when in the space of a few decades a territory wine was transformed into a global phenomenon.
Regional Information
The Conegliano-Valdobbiadene region of gentle hillsides produces one of the most widely-sold Italian wines: Prosecco. It has a soil rich in components, a climate with substantial differences between day- and night-time temperatures, a pre-Alpine area that is still predominantly uncontaminated, and a unique terroir. The wines produced here are characterized by very pronounced aromas in which floral and mineral notes predominate and in which crisp acidity highlights their freshness.
